David Richardson at Henley Beach, Adelaide

MY STORY

My deep love for writing adventures stems back to childhood. Born and raised in the UK, a long way from the beach, I used to visit the seaside only once per year when Mum and Dad would take us all for a family holiday. I’d use pocket money to buy a stash of books from Smiths, flop into a deckchair (accompanied by the most essential of British summer items - a blanket!) and immerse myself in stories by Enid Blyton and JK Rowling. It was there that my connection to escapism, hidden caves, secret tunnels, and magic was made.

Fast forward to today, and Adelaide, Australia is now my home. The beach is much closer, and I no longer need a blanket! But I still love books, the calmness they bring and the imagination they stir.
